I backed STRIPPED: The Comics Documentary which was funded on Kickstarter in late 2011.  Mostly because Dave Kellett, creator of Sheldon, is part of the team making it. A couple of years later and they are just about ready to launch it into the world. The updates on the project have been great, I’ve gotten to see many of the steps they’ve taken on the road to pulling everything together.  The project has shared a lot of things with backers of the project already and it looks really, really good.  You can see the trailer at the film’s website here. …

Running of the Gifts: 2012

Happy Holidays to everyone.  Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah!  Falalala Festivus! Is Darren Bleuel still celebrating Agnostica? Apparently so — Happy Agnostica!  Good cheer to all Jedi and Pastafarians  too.  Really, best wishes to everyone trying to make the world a little better. We had a nice time at the X compound today.  Parents, Parents-in-Law and extended Family-in-Law have all gathered at various times from the weekend until today.  It’s a bit more extroverted immersion than I’m used to on a daily basis but it’s been fun and it’s been worth the exhaustion.  Today was the annual Running of the Gift Wrap …

Title Confusion: Drive

The worst thing about Drive, the recent movie with Ryan Gosling is that now we can’t have Drive a hilarious space adventure movie based on the Dave Kellett webcomic. (Okay we can still have it but we’ll have to come up with a different title, like “My Mohawk Brings All The Boys To The Yard”)  There’s something quintessentially sweet about a Dave Kellett comic — there’s sarcasm and sass but never too much.
